“LOUVAIN-LA-NEUVE: 24-hour cycling event”
Organised in 1976 by the students of the “Centre Sportif Etudiant” (CSE), the 24 Heures Vélo de Louvain-la-neuve (in English: the
24-hour bike ride of Louvain-la-Neuve) quickly became a major event in the life of the university city.
The event has many facets: sporting competition, folk event, a “humanitarian” charity, concerts of French chanson, rock, pop or
other musical styles...
But above all, it remains a great student party, where the beer flows freely and the more serious concerns are put aside for a day to relax and
“;take time to live”...
